Welcome to the Flippin’ Ginger’s new website, fellow weirdo. thanks for your interest!

Not all artists are created equal. take a gander below to find out more about Lauren and to find out if she’s the creator for you.

Lauren’s core beliefs:

  • Never stop sketching from real life

  • Always have fun creating art

  • Push the boundaries of what is “typical”

  • Lead the way with kindness

Stylized, affordable, eco-conscious art for all.

Lauren’s art includes a mix of mediums, like paintings on canvas, wood, metal, and leather with acrylics, oils, and gouache. Recycling materials and “flipping” second-hand goods is a priority. Her style is eclectic with a mix textures, patterns, motifs, and smooth complimentary color transitions. When appropriate, Lauren adds a dash of satire into her pieces. She likes experimenting with eye-catching effects such as glow-in-the-dark paints, iridescent glazes, transfer foils, and more. The Flippin’ Ginger’s most impressive works are her 18 X 24” charcoal portraits and still-life studies.

Lauren usually starts by working traditionally, then transfers her pieces into a digital format for printing. You may find Flippin’ Ginger’s goods at local maker’s markets, on this site by clicking the appropriate links, or on Sticker Mule.

The Flippin’ Ginger’s entire portfolio can be found on instagram (link on homepage) or in person at her art galleries.

Lauren Ponga is an aspiring tattoo artist and Milwaukee native. She lives with her partner John, their grey kitty Roxy and their pitbull Buttercup. She is a full-time veterinary technician, which is the driving force behind her artworks featuring her favorite animals as well as her ability to render realistic anatomy. In her free time she remotely attends the Academy of Art University Illustration program. Lauren enjoys watching horror movies, playing video games and Magic the Gathering, getting tattooed, and disk golfing.

Every semester at the Academy of Art University, her professors instill in her the ability to produce quality thumbnails and sketches QUICKLY, meaning she can accurately observe anatomical relationships and proportions and put them on paper in the matter of minutes.
